Kasia Skorynkiewicz

Kasia Skorynkiewicz is an interdisciplinary artist working with outdated technologies, discarded objects, and overlooked materials. Across photography, alternative photographic processes, video, installation, and sculpture, she explores the relationships between technology, memory, obsolescence, and transformation.

Her cyanotypes often repurpose fragments of photographic and technological equipment, transforming objects such as light bulbs and 35mm camera parts into photographic images. Through process driven experimentation, she examines how familiar objects can take on new meaning when removed from their original function. By using an early photographic process to capture remnants of more recent technologies, her work creates a dialogue between past and present, preservation and disappearance, and the physical objects we leave behind.

Illuminated

Illuminated is an original cyanotype depicting an oversized light bulb, an object commonly associated with ideas, invention, and insight. Within the cyanotype process, light is also the agent that creates the image itself. By removing the light bulb from its practical context, the work shifts the familiar object toward metaphor, exploring how ordinary technological objects acquire meaning beyond their intended function.

Without an Apparatus

Without an Apparatus is an original cyanotype created through the direct exposure of photographic 35mm film camera components onto chemically treated paper. Removed from the camera that once gave them purpose, the individual parts become fragmented forms, hovering between recognizable objects and abstraction.

By isolating remnants of analog photographic technology, the work considers what happens when objects become obsolete. The cyanotype transforms mechanical components into photographic traces, preserving their physical remnants while reflecting on obsolescence, transformation, and technological change.

My work is about finding beauty in what has been overlooked and believing that healing, hope, and meaning can come from unexpected places.

I created Appalachian North in response to the opioid epidemic and the way it has changed the people, families, and culture of Appalachia. It’s also my response to fast fashion and the idea that everything has to be new to matter. I take secondhand garments, vintage clothing, and hand-dyed and hand-painted details, then transform them into one-of-a-kind wearable art. I wanted to get back to making things slowly… using what I already had, honoring older ways of creating, and giving forgotten materials another chance.

I don’t use sewing machines, and I had no experience sewing when I started. I simply began with what I had. I hope these pieces remind people that you don’t need perfect tools or years of training to create something meaningful. Sometimes all it takes is a little hope… a little faith… and the courage to begin.

Ricardo Woo was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and lives and works in Brooklyn, New York and South Bahia, Brazil. His installation is composed of drawings within circles that cover the wall. Woo refers to the circles as “emoji.” Playing upon the notion of these familiar icons, he presents his own “abstract sketches.” Woo has a B.Arch. in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo FAU USP and an MFA from NYU. Ricardo Woo explores different fields of art such as printmaking, drawing, installation, performance and ceramics. His work has been exhibited at Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo; Museu da Imagem e do Som, São Paulo, Brazil; DEOA Foundation, Taipei, Taiwan; KonzeptionArt, Munich, Germany; and other institutions.

Gus Mancini

Gus Mancini, also known as The Sultan Of Sonic Soul, is a family member of the WoodstockRoundtable’s Sunday morning Radio Show on WDST at 100.1 FM. Gus has now performed on the show over 300 times, live on air, spanning 27 years and counting. The Sonic Soul Band is one of the most unique bands in the Hudson Valley because their performances are TOTALLY improvised. The Sultan, now at 84 years young, a master of improvisational Saxophone, and Synth with a varied musical career spanning 60 plus years, has performed with many of the elite of all genres of music. Most notably he’s performed with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and for many years in the great Cathedral of Saint John Divine in NYC. At the Cathedral, he’s been accompanied by the well known Native American contemporary group The Hawk Project.

Route One

Route One (Mikal Federici & Anna Savchuk) is a singer/songwriter duo formed in 2024, in Asheville, North Carolina. Following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the pair moved north, resettling in Warwick, N.Y. With scores of clever and catchy original music, along with handfuls of complementary covers, Route One touches on notes of folk, pop, rock and blues, combining the standard musical forms into a package that is all their own. Between sweet, mellifluous harmonies, shadowy minor-key pieces, or charging rock progressions, Route One explores the range of the American musical idiom, with lyrical content that does just the same. The clean, unburdened two-piece arrangement between Federici & Savchuk gives listeners a chance to connect with both the duo and the songs they deliver, making for intimate performances audiences are sure to remember.

Guitars a GoGo

Sal Cataldi, Rick Warren

Guitars A Go Go is an edge-pushing improvisational partnership of two acclaimed and very “switched-on” Hudson Valley-and NYC based guitarists, Rick Warren and Sal Cataldi (aka Spaghetti Eastern Music). Armed with a plethora of effects pedals and a quest for meditative and melodic adventures that span a galaxy of musical influences and attitudes, the duo has been performing at leading Hudson Valley and NYC music venues and art galleries since early 2019.

With Travel Advisory, their debut album released in June 2020, Guitars A Go Go swing for the fences, with nine tracks reflecting their left-leaning influences. The duo conjures everything from the contemplative soundscapes of Fripp and Eno and wandering proto-electronica of Krautrockers like Tangerine Dream and Faust to genre-defining experimental/avant-garde of six-stringers like Derek Bailey, Glenn Branca, Sonny Sharrock, David Torn, and Bill Orcutt to electronic classicists like Morton Subotnik and Pauline Oliveros.

The heart of Travel Advisory is a quartet of live-in-studio duets recorded just as the COVID-19 quarantine took hold. They are layered, looped dreamscapes that journey through an abundance of moods, from meditatively peaceful soundscapes to textured noise and dissonance, ranging in length from 10 to 19-plus minutes – all recorded without overdubs. Five more tracks were later produced in remote collaboration, with Cataldi adding guitars, synths, and effects at his studio in West Saugerties to solo pieces performed by Warren at his in Hudson, N.Y. The album has received critical praise in leading music publications, airplay at leading indie stations in the U.S., Germany, Holland, and the U.K., including WFMU, Radio Free Brooklyn, SOMA FM, Radio Spiral, Dark Tunnel Radio, and others.

NYC and Saugerties-based guitarist Sal Cataldi may be best known these days for his style-jumping solo project, Spaghetti Eastern Music. With Spaghetti Eastern, Cataldi fuses hypnotic Eastern beats, blues, jazz, and electronica-influenced guitar instrumentals with gentle acoustic vocal tunes and looping straight out of the John Martyn/Nick Drake songbook, a diverse brew featured on his critically acclaimed debut disc, Sketches of Spam. Time Out New York writes: “Cataldi’s largely instrumental, Eastern-influenced jams are infused with some delicate guitar work and hauntingly moody atmosphere.” At the same time, The New York Times proclaims he has “a beat unmistakably his own.” Called “truly excellent” by The Village Voice, “a wild ride” by Radio Woodstock, “beautiful and unique” by WFUV’s Mixed Bag and “a whirling dervish of musical creation” by Hudson Valley One, Cataldi is also creating acclaimed work with The Vapor Vespers, a music-meets-spoken word project with Alaska poet Mark Muro captured on two album, One Act Sonix (2020) and Ghosts Before Breakfast (2024) and three albums with The Hari Karaoke Trio of Doom, with Kansas City based percussionist/producer Doug Hitchcock and renowned Eno bassist Percy Jones.

Originally from Kingston, Hudson-based Rick Warren has been deeply involved in the improvisational and experimental music scene fostered by renowned vibraphonist Karl Berger at his Creative Music Studio in Woodstock. It was Berger’s chance visit to a Rick’s high school music theory class that led him to become a regular participant in twice-yearly workshops held at CMS, an international hotbed of improvisational music performance and education founded in 1971 by Berger, Ingrid Sertso, and Ornette Coleman. Rick is best known for his soundscape compositions, which utilize his guitar and a variety of electronic sound sources, each one a unique and spontaneous creation. Rick is also active with the Hudson-based Slink Moss and the Magic Stones, the improvisational duo The Warren-Ver Straeten Half Quartet, and the popular acoustic folk duo, Rick and Marilyn, with songwriter Marilyn Miller.

Code Poems

Code Poems is Taylor Long (percussion) and Matt Sargent (guitar/electronics). Code Poems is focused on performing music at the intersection of experimental classical and free improvisation. Recent activities include the premiere of Matthew Goodheart’s Migrations for guitar, percussion and 8-channel electronics, and performances throughout New York and the Midwest. Code Poems’ debut album, featuring the music of Michael Pisaro-Liu, will be released by Other Minds Records in late 2026.

Gus Mancini

Gus Mancini, also known as The Sultan Of Sonic Soul, is a family member of the WoodstockRoundtable’s Sunday morning Radio Show on WDST at 100.1 FM. Gus has now performed on the show over 300 times, live on air, spanning 27 years and counting. The Sonic Soul Band is one of the most unique bands in the Hudson Valley because their performances are TOTALLY improvised. The Sultan, now at 84 years young, a master of improvisational Saxophone, and Synth with a varied musical career spanning 60 plus years, has performed with many of the elite of all genres of music. Most notably he’s performed with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and for many years in the great Cathedral of Saint John Divine in NYC. At the Cathedral, he’s been accompanied by the well known Native American contemporary group The Hawk Project.

Friday Night at Green Kill

Starting March 2026, Green Kill invites visual artists to be part of Friday Night at Green Kill, a lively salon-like monthly exhibition program where creativity meets community. Each artist can display one artwork (painting, print, or photograph) up to 30” x 60”. To join, send an image of your piece, a short artist statement, and a participation request to 229greenkill@greenkill.org. If accepted, your work will be featured online and exhibited during first and third Friday events—with up to 15 artists per night. There’s no entry fee, and you can sell your artwork (up to $2,000) with a 30% gallery commission on sales. Come enjoy an evening of art, open mic performances, and good company! Learn more.
