Ruth Danon
Ruth Danon’s fourth book of poems, Turn Up the Heat, was published in May 2023 by Nirala Seriesl . She is the author of three previous books of poetry: Triangulation from A Known Point (North Star Line, 1990), Limitless Tiny Boat (BlazeVOX, 2016), and Word Has It (Nirala, 2018.) Her critical book, Work in the English Novel, was reissued by Routledge in 2021. She has published widely in the United States and abroad. Her work has been anthologized in Best American Poetry 2002, Resist Much, Obey Little, (2017), Stronger Than Fear: Poems of Empowerment, Compassion, and Social Justice (2022) and will appear in the Poetry is Bread Anthology. She is founder of Live Writing: A Project for the Reading, Writing and Performance of Poetry. She teaches through Live Writing and for New York Writers Workshop. Since retiring from New York University in 2017 she has lived in Beacon, New York.
Greg Miller
Three of Greg Miller’s collections of poetry--Rib Cage (2001), Iron Wheel (1998) and Watch (2009)--were published by the University of Chicago Press, Mississippi Sudan (2006) by Mercy Seat Press, The Sea Sleeps by Paraclete Press (2014), and Now and Then Here and Now by Sheep Meadow Press (2022). Miller’s poems have appeared in Slate, Tikkun, The Paris Review, The Virginia Quarterly Review, and other journals. Miller has been a writing fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Yaddo, MacDowell, Camargo, Camac, the Dora Maar House, and The Gladstone Library. George Herbert’s ‘Holy Patterns’: Reforming Individuals in Community was published by Continuum Publishing in 2007. Miller collaborated with Professors Catherine and Richard Friend in publishing three books of commentary on, and an annotated text and translation of, George Herbert’s Latin and Greek poetry and prose.
Matthew J. (Matt) Spireng
Matthew J. (Matt) Spireng’s most recent full-length book, Good Work, won the 2019 Sinclair Poetry Prize and was published by Evening Street Press. An 11-time Pushcart Prize nominee, he is the author of two other full-length poetry books, What Focus Is and Out of Body, winner of the 2004 Bluestem Poetry Award, and five chapbooks. His poems have appeared in magazines across the United States since 1990 and been recognized in numerous national contests. He is a lifelong resident of Lomontville in rural Ulster County.
