Microfauna

Marco Spodek - Drums/Percussion

Microfauna is a Kingston-based improvised music group founded out of the need to recover and nurture musical connection. As an ensemble of longtime friends and collaborators, Microfauna is deeply interested in artistic and communal relationships, creating a sonic space reflective of our friendship. We take inspiration from the natural world, finding solace in woods, water, and orchards. Our practice of improvisation, both individually and collectively, necessitates experimentation as we ruminate on these spaces together. The result, weaving in and out of narratives, reflects time and place; past, present, and future.
